HELLO

My name is Sunny and I’m a freelance illustrator living and working in Portland, Oregon. I grew up in southern Colorado and began my illustration career in Brooklyn, New York but now consider the Pacific Northwest home.

I create editorial, book, lifestyle, and commercial illustrations. My work is often described as peaceful and grounded. I believe in tacit power - less is usually more.

In addition to my freelance work, I’m an adjunct instructor in the illustration department at the Pacific Northwest College of Art . I also teach barre at a studio here in Portland.

In my (infrequent but hoping to be more frequent) newsletter, you can expect to read about my illustration work, thoughts and experiences with teaching, musings (ramblings) on illustration, art, and design - and often more general ideas and experiences of being alive and feeling in a wild world.

An infrequent (but hoping to be more frequent) newsletter, about my illustration work, thoughts and experiences with teaching, and often more personal ideas around reality, consciousness and the bizarre and beautiful human experience.
